About

Built across the Marina Channel where five rivers meet, this tidal barrage formed Marina Reservoir, Singapore's fifteenth reservoir, when it opened on 31 October 2008. It stores water, controls floods, offers recreation and turned the once salty Marina Bay into fresh water.
