Bust of a Chinese Gentleman

Bust of a Chinese Gentleman

Public art

About

In 1939 William George Stirling gave this bronze bust, which he sculpted himself, to the Raffles Museum, now the National Museum of Singapore. It shows his idea of a typical Chinese merchant rather than a real person, and was reinstalled in the Singapore History Gallery in 2013.
