Balestier
About
Balestier is a subzone of the Novena planning area along Balestier Road, which joins Thomson Road to Serangoon Road and continues as Lavender Street. Shophouses line the road, some of them Art Deco, along with lighting and electrical shops, and the area's food is known for chicken rice and bak kut teh. The Tai Pei Yuen Temple is 290 m from the centre, the Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall 500 m and the Burmese Buddhist Temple 540 m, and two Whampoa Drive hawker centres are within 550 m. No station is within 800 m: Novena (North-South Line) is the nearest, 910 m away.
